SPECIFIC SKILLS

  1. Having the ability to innovate the planning and development of green tourism in the fields of hospitality, travel, destinations, as well as MICE and events.
  2. In the tourism planning and development domain, having the ability to design regulations and strategies for planning and developing green tourism based on:
    1. evaluation of national tourism competitiveness in various tourism industry practices;
    2. evaluation of the behavior of key stakeholders in the process of drafting tourism regulations and strategies;
    3. integration of concepts from various disciplines including economics, management, socio-culture, and environment;
    4. community development, local wisdom and socio-culture;
    5. latest technological developments;
  1. In the domain of initiation of a new green tourism business at the strategic level of a business unit, having the ability to:
    1. Design a tourism business strategic model based on rules, procedures, scientific ethics and environmental analysis of regional and global competition and changes in various tourism practices;
    2. Formulate strategic business decisions in order to improve tourism performance;
    3. Develop alternative solutions to problems in managing tourism industry practices by using an integrative strategic analysis;
    4. Formulate a regulation to accelerate the growth of the tourism business based on local potential and wisdom as well as economic, socio-cultural and environmental conditions;
    5. Formulate recommendations in accordance with the principles of green tourism;
  1. In the domain of developing the professionalism of green tourism service providers for the strategic level of a business unit, having the ability to:
    1. Build human resources which includes:
      1. management system: leadership, teamwork based on team dynamics, and the ability to handle conflict at work;
      2. recruitment system: placement, promotion, transfer and dismissal of employees in tourism organizations based on applicable labor regulations, the principles of effectiveness, efficiency and fairness;
      3. performance appraisal system: setting scope and performance targets, strategies, cycles, programs, activities in performance measurement, as well as feedback mechanisms to improve overall organizational performance;
      4. training system: determining the scope and target of training, strategies, cycles, programs, activities, as well as evaluation of training results in the short and long term;
    2. Build a marketing strategy which includes:
      1. development of the marketing mix of products and services offered; and
      2. formulation of alternative solutions to marketing problems faced, especially
        from the aspect of effectiveness and marketing practices applied by the
        organization.

Objectives

  1. Providing learning opportunities to the community and equity in applied master education (level 8 Indonesian National Qualifications Framework) in tourism business planning and development.
  2. Producing applied master graduates (level 8 of the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework) in the field of tourism business planning and development with character and entrepreneurial spirit and oriented to national and regional (Asia-Pacific) quality standards.
  3. Improving the ability and professionalism of lecturers in conducting international tourism business planning and development research.
  4. Encouraging the increase of community empowerment and welfare through community service in the field of tourism business planning and development.
  5. Expanding the tourism business planning and development cooperation network with the tourism industry, government, related associations, alumni, other universities, both national and regional (Asia-Pacific).
